Park House

Feed the ducks and visit the park! (Harlaxton)

Chuck the crusts that nobody ever eats into a bag and go to the bridge on the Harlaxton Manor walk to feed the ducks, geese and swans. They’ll be happy to see you! On the way back, pop to the village sports ground for some footy or the children's playground.

Grantham Canal (Harlaxton)

Put your walking shoes on and enjoy a Canal walk from Harlaxton to have lunch at the Dirty Duck at Woolsthorpe-by-Belvoir. Go back through village and across the A607 and down The Drift to the bottom to see the canal entrances www.granthamcanal.org/


Barrowby Play Area

The neighbouring village has a larger, newer play area (opened 2018) - just follow The Drift to the left of The Gregory to Barrowby, turn left and head into the village to find it on the green

Jump Revolution Trampoline Park (Springfield Road Industrial Estate, Grantham)

Opening October 2016 (date tbc) it promises to have giant airbag, dodgeball, cardio wall challenge and gladiator foam pit, in addition to the large open trampolining space and café. For children and adults. www.jumprevolution.com (2.6 miles)

Meres Leisure Centre (Grantham)

Get your trunks out and visit the Meres Leisure Centre for a swim or flume ride, or tackle the giant ‘Juggernaut’ inflatable (session times vary – please check in advance). Savoy Cinema (Grantham)

Multi-screen cinema with all the latest releases. Local multi-storey car park. St Catherine's Road. (3.2 miles)

Fun Farm – indoor play centre (Grantham)

Wear the kids out at the Fun Farm on Dysart Road, Grantham. Under 1s and adults free, great for kids up to about 11.

Grantham Bowl Ten Pin Bowling Alley (Grantham)

Put on those unmistakeable shoes and get set for a few strikes and spares! Worth checking for lane deals and off peak reductions. ‘Glow Bowling at weekends and during school holidays. Jak’s American -style diner is on site if you fancy eating while you’re there. www.granthambowl.com (3.3 miles)

Lovely collection of independent retailers, cafe, delicatessan, garden centre and more.

Belvoir Castle (Belvoir, near Grantham)

Belton House – National Trust (Grantham)

Both kids and adults will love the fantastic outdoor adventure playground, a walk around the grounds including the maze, or a tour of Belton House itself. Free with National Trust membership. Ropsley Pitch and Putt (Somerby Road, Ropsley, Grantham, NG33 4AZ)

No booking required, turn up and play (bring your own clubs and balls or ask to borrow some from us), honesty system for payment – at last visit was £5 per adult, £1 per child. 9 holes, par 3. You may have to ask for directions once you’ve reached the village. (8.6 miles)

Easton Walled Gardens

Isaac Newton’s Woolsthorpe Manor – National Trust (Woolsthorpe by Colsterworth)

Wymondham Windmill (near Melton Mowbray)

Twin Lakes Family Theme Park (near Melton Mowbray)

Footgolf - Sysonby Acres (Melton Mowbray)

Terminal 1 Skatepark (just beyond Melton Mowbray)

Are you ready!? Enjoy all the ramps and jumps this 13,000sqft indoor skate park has to offer all year round. Plus 6,000sqft outdoor BMX pump track. Ancaster Leisure: Karting/Paintball/Laser Tag/Ten Pin Bowling/Quad Bikes (Ancaster)

A whole feast of action-packed activities to get stuck into. Release your inner Hamilton on the two unique circuits or obliterate your friends and family on the paintball (low impact available) or laser tag courses (laser tag course is outdoor in woodland). Rutland Water Reservoir & Rutland Aqua Park (Oakham, Rutland)

Take your bikes or hire some for the day at Rutland Water and see if you can make it all the way around! Fishing, bird watching and family events.  

Rutland Water Park has the large inflatable assault course on the water – 55 min session, booking in advance required and includes wet suit - google search Aquapark Rutland. From c. May to September.

Lincoln Castle and Cathedral (Lincoln)

Visit historic Lincoln; the castle, the Magna Carta Exhibition, the cathedral and lots of dinky independent shops on ‘Steep Hill’. Feeling peckish on the way?
